Could hydro be a significant part of the solution for bringing renewable energy to West Oxfordshire?
In studying whether it's feasible to generate hydro power on the Upper Thames, it's important to learn about how others have done it. I was delighted to be allowed to present at the Witney Eco Forum on February 9th. The guest speaker was Tony Cowling, a key member of the team that has successfully set up Reading Hydro. He talked us through the entire process of bringing a community-owned hydro project into existence, with lots of practical tips. The takehome: it's a lot of hard work but worth it.
